Description
Captured way back on 12/11/05, at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden, located on the north campus of beautiful California State University Long Beach, in Long Beach, California.
By employing postwork to the fullest, I was able to bring this pic out of its original small 640 x 480 size and up to par without any noticeable loss of resolution.
This may not make any sense, but whenever I see this photo, I think of the 1977 WWII movie, A Bridge Too Far.

Great capture, looks like a nice place, ( at least it was 9 years ago). I can see your point with regards the bridge, definite shades of Arnhem in the shape. Of course if the paras had made it to this bridge, it really would have been a bridge too far.....

It's a lovely bridge, and I also can't help but be attracted by the beautifully manicured trees in the background. I do love this sort of scenery! Excellent work bringing this up to the exacting standards of 2014, Harry!

I'm supposed to be going chronologically, which means I should be back about 20 uploads...but as long as I'm here, what the hell! I'll do a few recent ones before going back...This was beautiful when it went up. Well, it's beautiful now but I mean that that's what I felt when I saw it the first time. You composed it with perfect balance. As in a number of your solo shots, you have equal space on either side of the bridge, for example. And the angle of the bridge, and its whites against all that green and red, etc, is just right. A bit of a shadow shot too! And your surgery to bring this up to present standards is first rate. One can tell it's not of the same resolution as your current shots, but pictorially it's utterly whole, and a delight. A very classic "pose," perfect angle, and the background falls sweetly into two types of growth. It's so pleasing to look at. Beautiful work on this. And btw, your comments on my musical uploads were wonderful; and you never have to explain why they aren't 'longer': You remain one of the best commenters here, and after reading them both I couldn't have wanted more. And you have a lot of other people to visit, so to give what you gave is above and beyond. They were great comments, and I thank you so much.

You are still finding a wonderful diversity of life in your corner of the world, Harry, and this is a lovely capture, but then I really enjoy your flora images and it's great to see that you have continued and excelled in your photography these past several years. :)
