Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Beautifully photographed. I love that expression, Weed of Concern. I have a comprehensive and varied collection of those in my garden.

Well taken and presented Bill.

I'm not as concerned about them as I used to be! LOL! This is a gorgeous photograph of something I have spent years of my life trying to banish. Now that I no longer spend time on plant banishment (aka weeding), I can enjoy them a bit more. :) This is superb work, hon. :*

Did you shine it under your chin to see if you like butter :) Great shooting Bill.

Given the number of these around every spring (and it seems to grow exponentially every year) they don't seem terribly concerned. Personally I like them, and would never pull them out of anyplace they wanted to grow, but that's me. What a wonderful capture you got here; I try constantly to get a shot that shows that interior detail of these, and fail miserably every time, mired in way too much yellow. I don't know how you did this, but it works incredibly well!

cool details in zoom and a well lighted shot!

A 'Weed of Considerable Beauty' is a much more appropriate title, methinks! A lovely shot of this delectable looking little bloom, Bill!

A big beautiful torch in the midst of deep darkness. Great that you have just one flower---it's all you need to bring out its striking presence. In the yogic world, we spoke of "presence" all the time to mean one's essence. This flower has essence, and it blasts into the image with all of it intact. You have just enough green---and light---to bring the background to life. And the rest---the black---sets off the buttercup beautifully. A beautiful solo shot, and the interior of the flower shines, in your hands, like it's just been 'freshly painted'. I always zoom, and, as always with fine photography like yours, the zoom makes the image burst into our eyes. Beautifully done, Bill. A flame!

What beautifully portrayed, Bill, I love the name in connection with the 'fat' shine on the flower. This radiates smug, yet modest, and gets in this way a very special identity, which is far from a type of weed, ennobled, he looks. You made him glorified in its kind, Bill.
