Description
As we drove through the countryside we would sometimes pass what appeared to be stacks of gigantic blocks of mozzarella cheese. Someone finally asked the obvious question, “What are those things?”
When you raise sheep you must feed them. This requires large quantities of hay. During the winter months feed was stored in large barns. The more sheep, the more storage you needed. Then someone had the genius idea of storing the hay in large plastic bags outside. Presto, mozzarella for everyone!

I once spent hours watching a farmer do this. The hay is cut, formed into cylinders and wrapped with plastic all in one work process and then thrown of the back of the machine. To do this by hand would take days, the famer was finished in 2 hours. Great pic and Compo.

Here in Florida, they often omit the plastic (maybe it over-heats the hay).
