Description
Captured back in 12/2006, in the morning, heaven only knows where.
Another original 640 x 480 resolution series of pics, enlarged and postworked for presentation in this posting.
Arboreal butchery, plus my variations, makes a tree appear evil.
Original on top, just for the record.
A ZOOM would be most revealing.
Arrivederci.

Poor thing. Its limbs look like they are writhing in pain or in anger, and could strike out to insure that someone else's day was awful too. I like the third and last ones best. I love the high contrast of the third one. The last one looks like a miasma of evil reaching out. The fourth one is interesting. It looks like there is a tall building rising behind it, and makes me think it is struggling to reach the light. Excellent image and manipulations!

It's always great to see Lucinda show up in these pages, with her erudite and heartful comments! And Prutzworks wrote: "the walking wood from Macbeth to TLOFTR"...Ok, I know the Macbeth reference, the woods themselves moved up to Macbeth's castle, and that was one frightening sight (the soldiers hid behind movable bushes and used them as cover): But TLOFTR? I looked it up on the web and found nothing. Maybe a sci fi place, I don't know. But he's right, this could be one of the bushes that ultimately threatened Macbeth's horrible life. Number one is a fine photograph in its own right, fine detail and light. The 2d and 3d are variations in black and white, which culminate in the high contrast and etched look of number 3 (number 2 is much moodier because of your grays and your grain). Number 4 is suddenly plunged under water (though I like Lucinda's "highrise" idea)---a fascinating treatment, Harry. It looks like a blend; and there's no interference between lights and branches, however it's made. And the last shot is a nightmare black and white, where we see the "inner" tree, with it's black heart. A menacing variation. I loved this the minute it went up; and in zoom, we can see much more detail. (The original would've been a fine upload by itself. But the montage is highly expressive.)
