Description
Hi.
I'm not supposed to be here, but I had to explain.
I read your comments, then looked at my image from last night. I posted the wrong image! Sorry! It was a long day.
I'd wanted to make a 2D piece from that photo, but I was tired, so I decided to post the original.
But I uploaded one of my 'steps' instead, and yes---it was too red! Sorry! But thank you for your very kind comments: I appreciate everything you said.
Here are the 2D versions I messed with. The last is the REAL original. (It had a red sky too.) They're big, so I hope you'll see it in zoom.
Thank you SO much for your reception of what I do. It means the world to me!
Have a terrific weekend
Mark

I really LOVE all these, Mark! I'm glad that scary red wasn't meant to be a warning of the end of the world.

I would say that I am glad you made the mistake, save that I am not glad for the reasons. But I am very glad to see the image. It's beautiful and very dramatic. I love all of these too. I like the way the person becomes a shadowy part of the sea (I know it's a lake, but it looks more like a sea) in the first two and the shapes become patterns. (I see a T-Rex.) The interaction of the sun and clouds are really cool in the 3rd one. The image has a ghostly, other reality feel. Gorgeous original! Wonderful sun and clouds, and light on the walkway. I love the composition with the solitary figure against all that splendor.

Lovely work as a lways my friend!!

Mark, there was no mistake in your last upload as I'm glad you decided to present the original image first. That gave me a greater appreciation for these beautiful variations, and allowed me to go back and do a comparison with the full size original. I must say that each one of these is fantastic in its own right, and one could hardly choose from among them. The one thing they do have in common is a hauntingly beautiful theme that can only be achieved when using images based on an around the sea. Hopefully your back is on the mend and you will be feeling like yourself again soon.

I'm glad you posted the other one, and I'm glad you left it up. It's a wonderful lead-in to this progression, and a different look. I like it! It's amazing to me how much difference we can make doing postwork on a photograph. The possibilities are endless! The blue/green version next to the pink/purple/yellow version is a wonderful contrast, and the two "sets" are another great contrast against each other. It's always a pleasure to see your process laid out like this!

Makes my mind fly...simply superb. Where does my mind fly to you ask? Back to my files from years past. What have I got back there that can be treated in similar fashion? In this digital age, the variations are truly only limited by our imaginations. Your imagination flies here...

Even with your back problems, your keen analytical mind must have been beyond tired to have made a mistake, Mark. But if what you call a mistake is any gauge, I should make those kind of mistakes! I loved that one yesterday with its bloody implications. In any case, some interesting variations you've supplied us with here, my friend, the first two being post apocalyptic, with their blues, reds, magentas, pinks, and virtually alike; the third variation presents a sweet nighttime effect, and the fourth one sure does look familiar and an all time favorite.

It's all wonderful work, Mark. I see no mistake at all in sharing different visions...and these are visions indeed, different moods of a time and place, intersecting realities. Reality is a very mutable thing, after all, dependent completely on one's position, and not just physically. I also love to see the work laid out, and the changes it goes through to become a "finished" piece...how do we decide that point? Sorry, I just had a long session with my massage/health practitioner, and had a very successful treatment, so I'm feeling a bit philosophical and other-worldly.

It's just impossible to have a favorite here, even though you posted the "wrong" one. I love these sequential images you do, each one is so different. But now I'm thinking I like that blue one, just looks more beachy, and well, you know me and beaches!! lol
