Description

We walked a bit earlier by the river yesterday, at just the right time to see the most insects. I was excited to see this little longhorn moth, but there were also hundreds of little green beetles mating. I will post some of the action later.

Looks like he could receive transmissions from outer space with those spectacular antennae!

Wonderful capture and detail, the moth can be every bit as attractive as the butterfly. Need a bright torch and a white sheet out the back garden at night... so many species. Sometimes looking at my Velux window in the kitchen at night reminds how many there can be.

Another stunner of a macro in this creature-upon-leaf capture. With that lengthy antennae it can pick up wireless/radio transmissions from kilometers/miles around.

A very clear capture of a beautiful moth. And what's so grabbing about it is the way you captured it looking over the canyon beyond the leaf. To it, that's a grand canyon. A single moth peering into the big canyons around it. A beautiful view for the shot. As if it's saying, "yep, this is where I could spend the rest of my life..."
