HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Brigitte! You will get to see August river, with luck! Looking downstream on the Stour yesterday. (No comments about Moon River, please, I really don't like that song.)

Excellent shot Andrea, this really does capture the beauty of the Stour. As a kid I do remember it being very good fishing.

You don't like "Moon River," so beautifully sung by Andy Williams? Most difficult to believe, but I'm glad you mentioned that because I was going to include several verses from that tune in this comment. Other that, a surfeit of green in this serene Stour shot, Andrea.

A fantastic tease for Brigitte to come see the rest of the August river - a gorgeous capture and so many shades of green!

This is gorgeous and a great dedication to a great fellow photo/artist. The greens are so refreshing, so lively! Everything in this is so deliciously lush! I love the mood!

Well, here I am at last - and finding this little gem amongst my presents - THANK YOU very much Andrea ! how sweet it is ... definitely very lush looking, as some commented already and now I am wondering, if someone would ever swim in there, when it gets too hot ? the doxies might, but I can't be too sure, maybe Rosie only ? but personally I think, I would like a very leisurely paddle in a canoe along there maybe ? I imagine that could be a lot of fun ... (ah, one can dream, right ?) and that is what your post conjures up to me, looking at this idyllic scene ... marvellous spot and a fine image indeed, BB

How beautiful! I'm so taken with the richness of the reflections, I can hardly tear my eyes away to see the real world, which (of course) is just as wonderful. The delineation between three-dimensional space and two-dimensional reflections is that fabulous patch of shining reeds. What a glorious image!

Don't worry about Moon River---as a musician (talk about making a living as an artist, as you'd mentioned in Denise's most recent shot), I had to play that bugger so many times I was ready to scream. When you play "gigs," people come up to while you're playing---I mean while you're actually trying to execute difficult passages---and say, "oh---do you know Moon River??? I LUUUUV that song! Could you play it???" And that's what you're being paid for. But man, you want to say, "I've played that song 20000000 times in the last month alone, please---could you ask for something else???" But you don't say it. It's the job. But you won't get any Moon River jokes from me, I promise... A beautiful, soft, glistening shot, and in zoom it's got a big sweep to it. And the opening to the water is a beautiful center, with that glistening white patch on the water. It's as if you went down there and put it there yourself, ran back, and snapped the camera: It's beautifully captured. The light on the water is beautiful too, as are the deep green reflections. This is what people think of when they think of your part of England. It's lush and beautifully captured, and a wonderful gift for Brigitte (who'll be there soon? what a great trip that will be!) Beautiful shot, Andrea.
