Description
Yes, roses in January, captured 1/18/14, very early in the morning, somewhere within the vast perimeter of the neighborhood.
Nice clear air with low sun and long shadows at that time of year.
Sayonara.

The photo is lovely but I find these grey roses very depressing, although I know lots of folk who love them!

They were a light pink when I photographed them, and didn't do any color altering in the postwork.

A lovely dusty pink in this beauty, Harry; looks from the POV like you were lying on the sidewalk. If I tried that I'd still be there! Excellent closeup on this winter bloomer!

So much variety in your rose series...this one, to use Denise's phrase, is a dusty pink, and it feels very delicate because of the low saturation of its hues. I can tell you didn't change the colors, this is clearly a natural hue. But with that intense winter light on it, it appears more delicate than many; and it really dominates the shot---even with that flag in the background which stands out because of its saturated reds. From the angle of the building behind it, it looks like you twisted yourself to get this shot "head on," and you made it look as if the rose were upright the whole time. Nice work. The rose is straightforward, but so reticent, because of that unusual 'dusty' hue. More beautiful rose work from you.
