Description
We visited a small country church at the end of a long, narrow dirt road. It truly looked abandoned.
Shot through a window with a little post work.

Wow...what I see, I like it. I wonder why the curch is abandoned. Too few people in this region. Here live true the loneliness. And the shadows.... LOL really spooky. Fine edit, Mark!

Beautiful image you made, Mark! I wonder what's the meaning of the words written in the pulpit.

you know the old expression, "there are no accidents"? You may have had no choice with these reflections, but being the artist you are, I'd assume your eye found and chose this image: It's a great mix of reflection, light and church. I mean, your shadow and the light from outside seem perfect for that stark interior: The inside and outside world really blend into a kind of 'religious vision'. And the intense shadow in the middle, and the heavy light around the window inside that shadow, make this place eerily magical. Wonderful image. When this shot went up, I couldn't stop looking at it, and it's just as arresting now. (Ok, I found this on YouTube: It's the last 2 minutes of a film called "Nostalghia," by the Russian director, Andrei Tarkovsky. It isn't about your shot, exactly, but somehow it's a cousin. If you don't have the time, just fast forward to the last 10 or 20 seconds. Somehow it reminds me of your shot, with the outside world washing into the inside world of a church. Just for comparison.
