Description
Karen and I have often been to this resevoir and walked up to the old slate quarry at the top end. This visit was the first time we walked all the way around, which involved crossing the dam. The top image is one end of a 180 degree pano, even as I took the photos the bottom image came to mind. This happens quite often, sometimes I'll take a picture just because a render comes to mind.
For accuracy this dam is more like the Sorpe Dam, a concrete core, earthen dam.The Dambusters attack required aircraft to fly along the dam and drop their upkeep mine without spinning it.....but what would an image be without a 'bouncing bomb'....

Fabulous work! I've seen a TV show about the Dam Busters and how they had to figure out the best way to make the bombs get to the dam and do the most damage without killing the pilots too.

The old 617 would have been proud of this mate! Maybe they can head back with their F-35s and give it another go!!!!!!!!!!!
