Description

From the shore one can see some ships queuing in front of the port mouth of Malamocco, waiting for the stormy weather to calm down and entering the lagoon to deliver their cargos at the port of Venice. The Adriatic is the nearest sea to Central Europe. In ancient times the Adriatic was the setting of some of the most famous epics, from the wanderings of Ulysses, to those of Medea and the Argonauts, to some of Hercules's deeds.
