Description
This is an adult red shoulder hawk. This bird is also back in the wild now. It came in as a youngster that was very hungry. It was too weak to fly. It had not found enough food to keep going after it left mom. The kind people that found it spent 6 hours following it until I could get there. Had they not done that, I would not have been able to find it. These are our second largest hawk here.

All fueled up and ready to fly! THANKS Mom! What a beautiful fellow. He's sure to recognize you. I wonder if he'll drop by for a visit? A friend for life, maybe? How was he towards you when you got him? Did he try biting or clawing you? Or did he understand you were helping him? I'm curious about he animal psychology here. Did I say beautiful photo? He seems used to you and the camera - no hint of being uneasy here. Thanks for the mini-series on this hawk. Keep up the good work! :-)
