Description

My goodness, look how much Junior has grown since I posted the last pic of him less than a week ago! Instead of white fuzz on his head, he now has fully formed feathers on his head and has moved outside of the nest to a nearby branch! (check my post "Oh Baby, How You've Grown" on July 20 to compare.) He isn't flapping and exercising his wings just yet, or wasn't this morning when I took this picture. But just before I took this picture of Junior, I took the pic of a flying Mississippi Kite in the blue sky inset, top right. That is a juvenile Kite that has already fledged! So this one is just a few days away from taking his first flight. Mom still comes to feed him regularly for now :) As always, best in zoom view. For some reason, bird photos always seem to upload "very soft". Thanks alot for your kind comments and faves of late. :)

"For some reason, bird photos always seem to upload "very soft". Something I noticed too Maria, and it isn't just at rendo either? How strange that is, but nothing strange about your superb upload my dear. Excellent work as usual from you.

WOW!!! Junior is growing fast and will be flying off to soon! I have found that the zoom function is most always much sharper than the original posting.

Another cool shot of the young kite. Doesn't he ever move off of that same branch? I guess it makes it easier for Mom to find him. In any event, Maria, at the rate he's growing, in another week or so, Junior will be a gigantic dreaded predator of the skies.

it is hard to focus on a particular part when shooting into branches, but your bird captures are always class work. I have another Dove nesting in my rain gutter with one baby. I have not tried to get a picture to avoid bothering her and been too busy working in my house

Amazing how fast they can grow. Just as surprising as time flying past us human beings. Amazing capture Maria. God bless.

Wonderful capture, I know that on most of my bird shots I've got the zoom cranked to maximum so they do tend to be a bit soft since that's not the "sweet spot" of most lenses.

He's very handsome! How quickly they grow up, he'll be off on his own in no time. Excellent capture of this young bird!
