Description

Early this morning I saw Mama Mississippi Kite leave the nest and land in a nearby tree. So I got this shot of her on the left. I looked for Junior and he wasn't in the nest but in a branch about 5 feet northwest of his perch yesterday. So he must have used some wing flapping and hopping to get there. One step closer to taking to the air for the first time! Better in full view. Thanks very much for your views, comments and faves. :)

Wow, the mother is a real beauty, Maria. And, Junior is looking more and more unbabylike as you continue recording his development. I wonder if he's eager to take to the air and snatch up his own grasshoppers. Really cool photos of the pair.
