Description
Greetings Folks,
The return of 'Legends'..
Here is a Curtiss special, true Legends all..
From the left we have;
Curtiss P-40F Warhawk 'Lees Hope'.. Owned and flown at Duxford by The Fighter Collection..
Center : Curtiss P-40B Warhawk, a Pearl Harbor veteran, this aircraft flew during the attack.. It has now returned to the States.. (A new P-40 has come here as an exchange).
And right : Curtiss Hawk 75, flying here in French Armée de l’Air standard three-tone scheme, with her GC 11/5 markings on her port, and the Lafeyette Escadrille Sioux Indian head motif (the TFC logo) on her starboard side.
She is the only airworthy Hawk 75 in the world and is owned and flown at Duxford by the Fighter Collection..
Zoom here as I've kept this big for you.. I've had several requests for aircraft and most I've got, they will appear as soon possible, its gonna be a BIG series! lol
I want to try and show a few odds a sods as well, and a few Aston's lo
Enjoy
Rob

Well worth the title of 'Legends', what a line up ! It's very clear the difference a radial engine makes to the design of an aircraft. The '75' could easily be dismissed as a different make entirely. A very zoomworthy image 10/10++

Beautiful shot!!!!! Just finished working for Curtiss Wright... now they make almost anything except planes... although are still involved with some sub-components, handling and launch systems. Mostly Nuclear and Power stuff now.

If only I was there with you! What a wonderful Curtiss family album shot! I'm so glad they have the Hawk 75/ P-36 flying!

Great job on another truly amazing capture, Rob.

Great composition of the storied Curtiss fighters in flight, Rob. Great looking profiles on these three. A zoom is necessary to see the great detail and markings. And, the Hawk 75 looks like an aircraft from the 1930s. Kind of reminds me of the P-47 Thunderbolt.

Another fantastic shot, Rob! I can almost hear the roar of their engines! How wonderful about that P40 - surviving Pearl Harbor, and STILL flying! That's tenacity! This is an awesome series!
