Description
This dung beetle busily pushed "his stash" quite a distance and then crawled under it and dug a hole till he had his prize nearly completely buried.
But along the way, he hit a speed bump. Guess what the speed bump is? :D
Better detail in zoom view.

What an outstanding image Maria. I remember a documentary about these beetles a while back that was absolutely fascinating. My guess at the speed bump is one of those lovely kitties paws?

I was thinking cat also. outstanding capture

Surely you don't have dung beetles in Texas? And that does look like a cat's paw. Superb capture!

Yes, Denise - we do have Dung Beetles in Texas, as you can see. :)

I'll have to go along with the commenters above in their analyses of what the dung beetle encountered in this well focused capture, Maria.

I did not know that you had dung beetles in Texas - I thought that they were in Africa. Learn something new everyday. It looks like a cats paw to me and a great catch of the interaction between the cat and the dung beetle!

I think a cat paw is in his way. I do hope the bump was removed so he could be on his way. Fabulous capture!
