Description

Of course the wings are there, but you may need zoom view to see the fuzzy spot in the center of his side where his wings are. The male Ruby-Throated Hummingbird really does have lovely scalloped gorget (neck) feathers, even though they aren't shining red or orange in this shot. The sun has to hit them just right for them to reflect their bright colors. I am obsessed with the beauty of their tiny feathers. Amazing little birds they are. Thank you very much for your recent views and comments.

Ahhh. This little guru has mastered the art of levitation. Beautiful shot. It's weird how those feather look so drab until the light hits them just right.

Absolutely incredible capture; the only softness is that wing blur, and everything else is right there where it should be. You are so good at this!

Amazing focus in this amazing shot of the wee hummingbird, Maria, apparently with an ability to cloak its rapidly moving wings while in flight, just hovering there.

What a beauty and tenderness, this photo, and hummingbird shows to us. An incredible fleetingness you have caught, Maria. Even the red stamen right, fit so well in the picture. Never I saw this bird here. Here in the Netherlands you rarely see these hummingbirds, and as we see, they have totally different colors.
