Blue Jeans (for ACue) by KatesFriend

This Poser 10 rendering I am dedicating to ACue. ACue is a super imaginative Poser and Vue artist with a genius for surreal as well as still life imagery. He has a long history with Renderosity and has always inspired me to up my game in 3D art - striving for the best realism I can add to an image. I highly recommend his gallery for a visit. And of coarse his avatar is that of a smug, self satisfied kitty. What's not to like there? Cheers my friend! Sorry, still no nudity.
So this is my first rendering using Poser 10. And first impressions are surprise at how much faster (or efficiently) this version seems to operate with respect to Poser 7. Subjectively, I am seeing renderings completed in less than half the time. Perhaps Poser 10 is taking full advantage of 64-bit processing on newer PCs. This has allowed me to crank up the power of rendering options such as the Post Filter size (4 in this case) and other quality settings. Also there are at least two new rendering options which appear to be worth further tinkering. 'Indirect Light Quality' and 'Tone Mapping' are both in the Render Settings panel on Poser 10. I do not as of yet understand exactly how they effect a rendering but I see a marked improvement in the quality of a render as a result of playing with them for a while. Tone Mapping is rather tricky and so far I've only managed to get good results from the 'Exponential' setting and not the 'Exponential HSV' setting. Either setting is used in conjunction with the Exposure option below Tone Mapping control. So for this Gwen rendering the Tone Mapping is set to 'Exponential' with the Exposure set to 3. In doing so I also had to lower the "Sun" and Diffuse lighting brightness from levels I would normally use in Poser 7. The 'Indirect Light Quality' I kept at the default value of 7.

Thank you for the amazing tribute my friend. I am gobsmacked! I love, love this render. The jeans texture is extremely realistic. and I'm glad you've mastered the Poser 10 materials. Look for my private message, Clayton. (by the way, I though I might have missed this render when first posted. thinking perhaps I was at the cottage with no Internet access at the time (he says as he hangs his head in shame). But I think I was here at home, because I posted "Skylephants" on Aug. 3, 2014.
