Description

This image is of a Summer sunset taken from the top of a hill and looking down toward a valley. As I stood and watched the sun go through the setting process, I was in awe when it moved right on top of the horizon. I've seen lots of sunsets, but had never actually seen one where the sun was sitting right on the horizon--- guess I either was never in a place to have a good view of the horizon or never stuck around long enough. I was in absolute awe to see this huge red ball sitting right on the horizon. As the sun sat on the horizon, it was so peaceful. But even more important, it made me realize how insignificant we are in this universe--- i.e., an insignificant speck and that there's something much larger than us out there. It also made me realize that we often forget that in the big picture, we're not really as important as we would like to think we are. This sunset was a very humbling experience for me.
