My name is Ruth. I've recently returned to my photography hobby after a many years hiatus when life got really busy for me between kids and work. Now that I'm retired and my kids are adults, I've been able to spend more time on my photography hobby. With all of the advances in camera and photography technology, I consider myself a relative newbie. I started out many years ago using 35 mm film cameras, then switched to a Casio compact (pocket sized) digital. With more time to pursue my photography hobby, I bought a more advanced digital camera, a point and shoot (Canon SX 50 HS) with many features that have so far well suited my needs.Â
My particular photography interests are nature, macro, and landscape. By joining Renderosity, I'm hoping to get some constructive criticism on my photos which will help me to improve my photography skills. I'm also looking forward to learning from other members and from any tutorials that are posted at this site.

Thanks, Juliette. Any suggestions for getting rid of or decreasing the noise? I do see some when I zoom in on the blue part of the sky.

Beautiful colors. However, it looks like what we're seeing in central Sweden where the country's largest forest fires ever are raging at the moment. They can also be very beautiful, but the destruction, no thanks! This is by far more preferable! Keep up the good work! :-)

Thanks for your kind comment, T. Rex. I'm sorry to hear about the forest fires you're having in Sweden. I hope that they'll be contained soon before they do anymore destruction. Are you having a drought in central Sweden which has caused these fires? Or, was it due to human carelessness? In 1977, my husband and I lived in southern Sweden (in Lund) for a year and loved it. We did a bit of traveling through Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Sweden is a beautiful country and I'd love to return for a visit some day.

I have spent many enjoyable "hours" on my roof or other places waiting for the perfect moment for skies. this is very dynamic and beautiful

Thanks, Richard. While I haven't climbed on to my roof to shoot images of the sky, I do enjoy waiting for those perfect sky moments either from my deck or in various other outdoor locales. Mother Nature sometimes presents us with some good photo ops, doesn't she?
