Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Well I've saved your gallery for when I was totally open and relaxed, able to soak in your flying spirit with full reception. I'll do this in a couple of sessions, so don't think I'm finished in one. As always, I can't do every image that I've not commented on (since I'm gone for weeks at a time), but I try to comment on a representative 'swath'. And, as I always say, I've SEEN everything---I don't miss an upload of yours, ever. The whole gallery continues to dazzle and dance, and it's always a pleasure to come here. (And let me say, as I have many times before, that I greatly appreciate the spirit, openness and joy of your comments in my gallery. They're absolute joys to read, and I hope I can return some of the favor to you, here.) Given that all these creatures move, it's amazing you got them all in one position---flat against the frame of the shot, to cooperate with you. It's an enchanted bunch, because of how the light comes through them---in a fairly dark scene---and how saturated those hues are (great reds in this shot!), and the fanciful cartoonish nature of the creatures themselves. And it's such an interesting shot because you've got them cut off at the edges, like they go on this forever. And because of the light (moody and brooding), and the inclusion of so much dark sand in the background, their festive nature really stands in contrast to the powerful forces of the sea behind them. Playful cartoon figures in front of a primal ocean. A fascinating capture, and I love that these are supposed to be creatures heading home at rush hour!
