Description

Our exciting dogwalk in Ramsdown Plantation included lots of different habitats. Clockwise from top left 1. Open pine woodland looking toward some humid heath on the Dorset Wildlife Sopley Common reserve. 2.Looking in the opposite direction, with Rosie on the path by the bracken. 3. A typical Forestry Commision type fire break track, with Rosie and Brigitte and Christel in the distance. 4 & 5. Out of the woods and onto the heathland managed by ARC. (Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, until recently called the Herpetological Conservation Trust. I'm glad they changed their name, easier to spell.) 6.Back into the woods and onto the beginning of the rise up to the top. 7. On the plateau, with Christel walking towards us from the seat which faces North overlooking a breathtaking view of the airport to the left and then 180 to the right. Main picture, which is the view from the top eastwards , just to Christel's left. This is the new pond made by ARC which we intend to explore another day. 8.The Isle of Wight and the Needles. 9. Splendiferous clouds. 10. Looking down from the top Southwards, just before the descent of the 'new' staircase. 11. Christel, Brigitte and Fritz about halfway down the steps, of which there are many, I wish I'd counted! 12. The path which takes us back to the car by the quickest route, which I chose not to take. I may make another montage as I have enough photos of interest, we'll see.

A wonderful collage of great shots, that is a really lovely place to have a ramble, I bet the dogs love it too. That pond does look interesting and worth checking at some later date. Well done with these captures... each one worthy of being an individual post on here.

All wonderful photos my friend but I have to say that the center photo is exceptional. It looks like Fritz was not having a good time on those stairs.

What a wonderful overview of this wondrous landscape, Andrea. I wonder whether there were many dragonflies in the water. Unfortunately, we have not been to our heath, about 5 km. driving. But now I enjoy the heath near you. I read, Brigitte was also present, which is fine you still had her company, Andrea. Unfortunately, I do not recognize Brigitte, the pictures are too small ;-).
