Description

Sumac is any one of approximately 35 species of flowering plants in the genus Rhus. Sumacs grow in subtropical and temperate regions throughout the world and especially North America. Sumacs are shrubs and small trees that can reach a height of 3.3 to 32.8 feet (1 to 10 meters). The flowers are in dense spikes 2 to 11inches (5 to 30 cm) long, each flower very small, greenish, creamy white or red, with five petals. The fruits form dense clusters of reddish drupes called sumac bobs. Poison sumac can cause severe allergic reactions and a very itchy rash. Info from Wikipedia.
