Description

Greetings Folks, Lets go Old School now.. Back in my younger days when I owned and rode a bike (not like this I regret to say), I saw many like this, I even rode on the back of a couple.. Better days! Much better.. This is real pleasure to see at this years Custom and classic car show (which includes trucks and bikes as long as they are over a certain age).. I'll leave with this off the board beside the bike.. When flares and Glam rock ruled the day, the youth of the day customised their Dads old out of date Brit bikes into 'Cool' Old School Choppers.. Inspired by Easy Rider, 'Sweatleafe' was made with skill and ingenuity by adapting and making part fit in the garden shed, without £1,000's of expensive tools and custom parts.. She is a Triumph Tiger T90 350cc with Daytona Twin Carb head, 500cc barrels, high compression pistons, chrome Amal Mark II carbs and a hard tail frame.. The gear change was moved to left, by hand..Engine was chromed and hand polished.. The superb twisted springer forks are 2" overstock, the coffin tank was hand made from sheet metal and the lantern indicators, made from old biscuit tins!! The Exhausts were also custom made.. The paintwork is still he original from the 70-'s! Roman Bronze Metallic and hand painted writing.. And the seat? The only one like it in the world!!' Needless to say, it has won awards.. Many, also featured in many magazines etc.. And I WANT!!! Hope you like, taken this, at this Car show! Rob

I rode bikes too, but only sports bikes. I never owned a Harley or anything! But over here at least, there are too many big arsed BMW SUV's on the roads being driven my maniacs to ride a motorcycle. Then again, maybe I have just gotten older and lost my nerve!!! It seems strange, in a nice way, not to see a huge thumping v twin.

Oh, now that is classic! I love the lights on this bike.. I'm not a rider, but I love the look of a good custom bike - and this is a gem! Great photo of it, Rob!
