Description
I remember looking at pictures and movies of the Lockheed Super Constellation when I was a kid, totally entranced by it's sleek, modern, almost birdlike lines and organic form. Totally cool.
I was looking at some old 1950's TWA ads and was amazed by the amount of leg room available and parlor/living room ambiance of the first class cabin. Then, of course, there were the stewardesses! A style of travel now available with a much higher cost and less of the romance... it is nice to remember though.
I finally had the chance to work with Pedro's very fine homage to the classic TWA luxury era.

My friends dad use to fly these. What a rush. I always thought they were one of the finest looking and most unique four-engine prop jobs to ever take to the skies. I miss 'em.

Good render Bill. Barcelona Airport at the end of the sad 50s. Farewell to an uncle who emigrated. The "Connie" is the first plane I saw up close. It has left its mark. Thanks for the mention.

First plane I ever flew in. Well done

The good old days, when travel was an adventure not a cattle drive....Excellent image Bill, I like the way you've kept this 'middle distant', gives a great feel of the big plane in a big sky. This would make a great retro ad in it's own right.

Great image. I saw one at a big exhibition flying. Yeah, the sound of the big Wright radial engines is great.

Good old times. I have visited one in a small french airport in the 60s. It was without the seats and I've been told that it was to be used in Australia to carry sheeps. A joke?

I flew from Atlanta to Chicago in one (unattended) when I was 11. They put me in the back and I got very airsick.
