Computer geek extarodinaire, I love to tinker with gadgets and tech items to get them to do what I want. I'm either logically artistic or artisically logical. I'm also rude, crude, semi-barbaric, socially unacceptable, and totally psychotic. On the bright side - I am potentially harmless. I'm currently trying to write some short stories about the fae as well as a novel on those same fae as well as two other novels. The programs I have for photo and image editing are: Photoimpact from Ulead, Adobe Photoshop 7 and Corel Paint Shop Pro 2X. Recently I've added DAZ Studios as well as Terragen, Blender and Google Sketch to my list of programs crowding my hard-drive.  All this and much more on an old Pentium III 450 with 396 Megs of memory and operating Windows XP. It does get interesting at time.As of December 26, 2008, I have added Vue 7 Pioneer to my list of reason of why I'm going insane.
As of January 2010 I upgraded to a new HP 2 dual core processor with 6 gigs onboard mem with 4 gig powerboost and 2.07 terabytes of Hard drivesMy email is faemike55@gmail.com

I hope only for the best. I'm sorry, but for me was not completely clear your message. And I hope your absence will not be very long

This photo shows the heart you have. My prayers will be with you over the next days and months. I am glad I listined to the still, small voice that had me going back to get the picture of the rainbow.

Oh Mike, I'm so sorry to hear of all this. You have a plate full going on that's for sure. There are some great folks here to lift your spirits and share in your troubles. You will get through this over time I have no doubt.

great forest capture. has an ominous feel your collection will be a job moving alone. outstanding capture and I am sorry about the predicament of your parents. however it is good that they go to such a place. many people end up in some crummy understaffed "nursing homes". my mother simply starved herself to death in a nursing home. it was a short distance from where my sister lives and she was able to visit everyday

What a beautiful image! It captures the wonder of light. The light in your image shines like a flame on the warm bark of the tree, and with softer touch, traces the silvery lines of the branches. When I read your title and saw your image, I thought of the myriad of different experiences with light. Not all are pleasant, but the ones that are, lift up the soul and make the heart sing. I thought of a congregation singing "Silent Night, Holy Night" in a circle of candles lit against the darkness. I thought of long shadows, and blue twilight. I thought of light dancing in autumn leaves. I thought of the light that came into my father's eyes when he looked at my mother. Your image is even more evocative on zoom, where my eyes are drawn into the depth. My thoughts are with you and your parents. May the light of faith, loved ones, and beauty give you all comfort and strength, and moments of joy. Take care of yourself. I hope you find a new home quickly and the move goes smoothly.

Viewing your pic, reading your words put some lyrics in my mind, and then, Johnny Cash came and sang that song with me, silently from my soul thinking about you : ... Praise The Lord, I saw the light I saw the light, I saw the light No more darkness, no more night... See you soon Mike. Best thoughts.

Beautiful capture and motif, Mike. Very suitable for the title. It saddens me to hear disaster striked upon you and your family. I will pray for you all. I hope the light will guide you through these dark times, and that you will prevail.

A few years back my brother and I had to put my mom into a nursing home because of her escalating dementia....Unfortunately, she passed away just this past July from stage 4 stomach cancer. I understand your pain...But each day gets a little better for me...My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Take care of yourself so that you can be there for them....It's a beautiful shot :)

Really neat light play and composition ! Sorry to hear things aren't so flash right now, but it will all work out for the best in the end, just hang in there Mike and stay strong. ~Cheers~

Sorry to hear about your upheaval. My Dad had alzheimer's before he died. Luckily, if you can call it such, my Mother died a few years earlier so she didn't have to go through the anguish. Unfortunately my elder sister, who had done a lot for may dad with his illness, has now got it herself, so her family are going through hell. There's nothing worse!

You have that Mike ... you obviously have to take all the time needed to get such upheavals and issues resolved. Think of it as taking an upload break whilst you attend to more important life matters!
mininessie
Oh Mike....sorry to hear that! I hope all can be resolved the best way! God bless you and help you and your family! my best wishes and a big hug for you my friend!!! precious pic!

Good Luck with your Parents, Understand entirely.... The Wife's Mother had Dementia, and Cancer, Both discovered about the same time, the dementia was starting to make it self apparent when she was checked into the hospital for a foot issue...and then the Cancer issue came out.. her Father had a silent heart attack that remained a secret from the family for about 9 months. We found out about it a couple months before the Hospital..then stress of the hospital and having the entire family here trying to help ended up causing a major heart attack, and her Mother passed two weeks later, not from Cancer but from Gangrene from her foot issue... The Dr's quit treating the foot issue (gangrene) when the cancer was discovered ie the first day she was checked in...... it was relatively quick for both...and for that we're grateful, Wish you the same......
