Whether it be God, Allah or any other name that you go by or believe.
the events that shape our lives can be subtle or catastrophic or anywhere in between.
In my case it is tending towards the Catastrophic style. My Uncle Steve (dad's brother) and Aunt Barb came down to attend a funeral of a relative and then they took Dad and Mom to the coast to get them away from the strife and BS that is attendant with my step-brother and his girlfriend. While they were at the coast, issues were discovered which gave me the first upload about my parents condition. They have since come back from the coast and I have learned so much more and none of it very good.
Dad is at stage three or very near that state with dementia and mom hurts more than ever. and such being the case, my uncle and aunt are doing what they can to get them into the assisted care facility as soon as possible.
This means that I will be busy packing up my stuff in this next week in order to move out of this place I have called home for the last 6 and a half years. I will have up to two, maybe three weeks to do this.
While this sounds harsh, my step-brother and his girlfriend have been given less than a week to get out. there's a story behind this event.
Where Am I going with all this rambling? Events happen for a reason, sometimes the reason is obvious and other times not so; this event or series of events range somewhere in the middle I think.
Long story short, I will be online, especially while I'm at work so I can at least keep up with the ebots. until I get MY computer(s) moved I will not be posting much. I ask for your patience, kind thoughts and prayers, not only for me but for more especially for my parents. I ask that you send them a guiding light that will help them on their way...

Oh! I almost forgot, this was taken in the Wind River section of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest where I camped and 'pretended' to hunt for elk and deer.

Oh Mike, I'm so sorry to hear of all this. You have a plate full going on that's for sure. There are some great folks here to lift your spirits and share in your troubles. You will get through this over time I have no doubt.

great forest capture. has an ominous feel your collection will be a job moving alone. outstanding capture and I am sorry about the predicament of your parents. however it is good that they go to such a place. many people end up in some crummy understaffed "nursing homes". my mother simply starved herself to death in a nursing home. it was a short distance from where my sister lives and she was able to visit everyday

When I read your title and saw your image, I thought of the myriad of different experiences with light. Not all are pleasant, but the ones that are, lift up the soul and make the heart sing. I thought of light dancing in autumn leaves. I thought of the light that came into my father's eyes when he looked at my mother. A few years back my brother and I had to put my mom into a nursing home because of her escalating dementia....Unfortunately, she passed away just this past July from stage 4 stomach cancer. I understand your pain...But each day gets a little better for me...My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Take care of yourself so that you can be there for them....It's a beautiful shot :)

Sorry to hear about your upheaval. My Dad had alzheimer's before he died. Luckily, if you can call it such, my Mother died a few years earlier so she didn't have to go through the anguish. Unfortunately my elder sister, who had done a lot for may dad with his illness, has now got it herself, so her family are going through hell. There's nothing worse!

Good Luck with your Parents, Understand entirely.... The Wife's Mother had Dementia, and Cancer, Both discovered about the same time,the dementia was starting to make it self apparent when she was checked into the hospital for a foot issue...and then the Cancer issue came out.. her Father had a silent heart attack that remained a secret from the family for about 9 months. We found out about it a couple months before the Hospital..then stress of the hospital and having the entire family here trying to help ended up causing a major heart attack, and her Mother passed two weeks later, not from Cancer but from Gangrene from her foot issue... The Dr's quit treating the foot issue (gangrene) when the cancer was discovered ie the first day she was checked in...... it was relatively quick for both...and for that we're grateful, Wish you the same......
