Description

We've been busy packing and getting ready to head south for the winter, which is why you haven't seen me around much this week! This morning we'll finish up the last details and get on the road. For those of you following along, here's the plan for this year: We're leaving the motorhome at our campground in Washington and taking the car to Texas. Our original plan was to leave in the motorhome on or about September 14th, but it seemed like one thing after another after another kept us here. After a couple weeks of that, we decided we didn't have the correct plan, and adjusted accordingly. At some point it gets to be too late in the year to go camping in the mountains, and we passed that point a couple weeks ago! We traded in the Hyundai on a 2011 Honda CR-V. It has more cargo room, and we got a rooftop carrier for additional storage. Mandy isn't a very big dog, but she's got a kennel, and her stroller, and her dog food bin, and her bed, and ... well ... you get the idea. We've been telling people we got her a car for her 16th birthday. :P The car is all packed now, and this morning we'll finish winterizing the motorhome, and off we'll go! Hopefully I'll have some hotel time on the trip that will allow me to post pictures and look at your art, but if you don't see me, don't worry! :) We're heading for Kansas City to see kids and grandkids, and then we're off to south Texas for the winter. I expect we'll get there some time during the first couple weeks of November. We'll be back in Washington some time in April or May, depending on ... whatever. Being retired means being flexible! So wish us fair winds and good travels, and I'll be here as much as I can during the next month. Note to Claude: I think this is the last one. :P

The base of this looks like a cross section of a hog motor. Brilliant shot. Have fun out there and take care. Just an observation, but if you to keep flying south for the winter, you'll grow feathers :D

Have a safe trip & a fun winter. If anyone's not familiar with these, they're called ecofans. You place them on top of wood stoves, they're powered by the heat of the stoves & they circulate the heat through a room more quickly & efficiently...

Fair winds and sunny skies to you and Bill! Looking forward to seeing you two again! If the winds are fair enough maybe we can take the Phantom out for a spin somewhere other than the backyard! LOL! What a wonderful photo, Tara!
