Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

This is one seriously big, whopping mood and I love the way it comes across. I really need to visit this beach and get to feel it for myself. I really need to see it on a day like this one too: the misty, foggy--and yeah--dreamy quality that this image has is really special. It makes me think of some of the things I've read over the years: there's something distinct and concrete, but the thing that comes across is the foggy, misty, shifty element: a constant surprise that's never the same way twice. The colors are very nice: I love the subtleties, and the soft but looming shapes are really super. This is a really well-seen shot!

Oh, and I don't know how I forgot this, but I love the way it makes me think of a water color, or at least a subtle wash. I love that effect here!

In zoom, it's a big watercolor/oil painting (two opposite mediums, lol, very moody, almost washed out in some melancholy zone, and it just gives the outlines of shapes, incl the barn. You've made your water look like a big primal dream. Very moody and mysterious, Marilyn.
