Description

See the USA in your '57 Chevrolet. While perusing my ancient files, I encountered this goodie harking back to my salad days of Bryce/Poser art work, i.e., the years 2002 through 2006, when I was much more daring, inventive, imaginative, indulgent and fun loving than I am now. Many thanks to whoever came up with this Poser car. And, sorry about the choppy reflections on the auto. That's the way it came out in the process. Does give it some unique character though. Auf wiedersehen.

Harry, you've got a whole lot of other images and series I want to comment on, but as I'm at 2 hours, I have to stop. I'll be back...But I see I've done several of your Mixed Media pieces, and I'll forgive myself for neglecting other images because these have been such a delight, in concept, humor and choices. Your color scheme here is wonderful: It's a kind of 50's Americana dreamscape. That light blue---in the car seats---is terrific against the deeper blues of the car chrome. The reds (lights) and bright greens on the side make wonderful contrasts with the blue too. As for the "cubist" treatment on the trunk---lol, I love it as well, and I'm glad you didn't remove it. (Picasso and Braque meet 3D!) I have a feeling your eye quietly guided you, because it really works. And those day-glo green-yellow road strip lines...even your signature is in a bright green (with red outlining!)---this is a candy coated dreamscape of 50s america, with the family and the dog. Your imagination is delightful, and I agree with Denise about the overall graphic feeling. And your desert---in its bright oranges and yellows---is yet more of the dreamscape, with a single horse and buggy, and that line of cacti. (And is that an outhouse back there? It ain't an ATM!) With a sky giving more of that deep blue...I love this---it's simple on first glance, but your colors and your concept are anything but. Wonderfully upbeat and playful, and eye popping. I have to stop now---apologies to so many photos!---but it's been a pleasure. Now I'm gonna pile the kids into the chevy and hit the road. A wonderful session.
