Description

At both Grand Teton & Yellowstone, the sheer quantity of yellow wildflowers (mostly mule's ears) was mind-boggling. I found it challenging to capture that in a photo & this may be as close as I was able to come. This was taken at Jackson Point Overlook in Grand Teton... Please zoom.

Wow! That's an amazing spread of gorgeous yellow! You did well...Many years ago I drove through the valley on the way to Yosemite from San Francisco when the lupines were blooming, and it was the same kind of unbelievable vista, colours as far as the eye could see. I wish I'd had a real camera then, but all I have are my memories and a very few blurry unsatisfactory pictures.

I want to write to those who didn't zoom and tell them to come back and zoom! It just opens up full size. It's a big plush carpet, the yellows are beautiful. And the overall feeling is of a big thick lush plush, so soft one could rest on it. (Not likely in reality, of course; but in art, yes.) You let the incline dominate the shot, and gave us background in the upper right corner---I like that choice very much, it lets the profusion of flowers take over. A big plush shawl or afghan made by nature; and the yellows make the greens all the more alit.
