Description

Here's a view you'll never see anywhere else! Starting at the top right-hand corner and going clockwise: Olympic Mountains, Washington Mount Rainier, Washington Buena Vista, Colorado Powder River, Oregon Mount Hood, Oregon Skagit County, Washington Mount Baker, Washington It's amazing what perspective will do for a picture. I took every one of these photographs while standing on the ground.

If you had not explained one would think this is the most impressive mountian range in the world. This may be your best one yet.

The Disney Company has just released ‘Big Hero 6’ which takes place in the high-tech city of San Fransokyo. To create the city Disney combined parts of San Francisco and Tokyo. You may have missed your calling, Tara. Perhaps you should contact Disney and see if they are hiring because this is just stunning work.

a painterly piece, and with the feel of the great Japanese prints (hokusai, hiroshige, etc), in the broad hues, the flatness of some of them, of feeling very vivid but at the same time very gentle, the textured sky, etc. Your postwork rendered this a beautiful print, even a bit of an etching; it has texture, it's tactile. And the mountains speak to each other as if they were actually in that spot---a wonderful piece of blending. And your "starburst" brush is so well placed at the corners. It has a kind of late day light---cool but very kind---and a sky is made of gentle green 'carpeting'. This really does feel like a print from the East. (I have to say, I wish more people zoomed, because so much more is visible when one does!) And your M is wonderfully done, so it blends-in but stands out, with an icy, gently shining. You're really going in many directions in this series---I never dreamt you'd do all this. Now I wish the alphabet had 200 letters. A beautiful entry once more, tara!

And it's interesting how the mountains in the foreground almost form the "M" in several places. M is also for Magnificent! A 'M'ost spectacular composite, Tara!

i had the same thought as RodS, the mountains seem to form the M all by themselves--what a wonderful image!!

Clever clever sausage! I'll bet these mountains wish they could all get together and talk, and I'm sure they'd have an earful about what people are doing to them and around them! As Mark said (Mark always says everything, you know...) it does feel very reminiscent of those Japanese prints. And mountains are very devious, they look THAT tall from one spot, and then you move the slightest bit and then they're that tall, and you can barely see them...I don't know how you got them all to sit still for a photo at the same time, but it works beautifully!

This would have to be one of my fav's in the alphabetical series - those M-arvelous, M-ajestic and M-ystic Mountains ... they appear to me and look like the icing on many cakes ... or just been layered with M-arzipan - YUM ! perfect choice of font, Tara ... BB
