Description

Hopefully this has some of the flavor, sights and sounds of New Orleans, Louisiana! :) I'm having trouble with my computer, and it's about all I can do to post on a regular basis. Mostly I'm commenting on your artwork via my phone. It's not optimal, but it keeps me connected to SOME degree! So if I totally disappear, don't worry.

I too see the past of this special place. It's as if there are several years of people living in the same place. Computer issues are quite the pain. Mine is having TIA's . If you disappear at least I know it won't be from Mike sitting in your lap!!😳

Well done, I think you got it pretty well, the music and the architecture and the feeling in the air. Beautiful!

Well, we certainly don't want you to disappear into the cyber-ether world! I'd have to send the Phantom out to look for you! LOL This definitely communicates the flavor of N'Orleans - although I've only passed through it once - never leaving the airport - I had the best red beans and rice there! Lovely work, Tara!

This is a perfect image for New Orleans. They say the city is full of spirits and darned if you haven't found some of them. Proving once again that zooming is important, at first I thought the fellow in the lower left was taking a picture of the horse. Imagine my surprise.

What a beautiful image full of details and layers. It really looks fantastic. I have a feeling, that photoshop is a better with layers and blendmode, than psp 9....or maybe I am not as good as you guys to make it work. I think I see atleast 4 layers here. Tara, I do hope your computer will get well soon :-)

the thing about helle's work (ala her comment) is that she doesn't need to blend, because she's pasting/collaging things right next to each other, doing a whole other kind of blending which she does so wonderfully...which shows the variety we're all getting in these images, which are so different from each other. This is so architectural! I can't explain it---but the way you've brought out the humans makes them look almost like bas reliefs---a very architectural form of sculpture---like they're emerging out of the stone of your window photo(s). The people are all placed so intuitively---things feel like they're where they SHOULD be. And the people aren't blended in so much as a layer unto themselves: They co-exist more than blend-in. It's marvelous. I love this piece! And I like the music symbols in the border (and one in a pink from the windows). And your choice of near black and white for the people makes them all the more like bas reliefs, ie, standing out from the facade. (The red railing's a wonderful accent too.) Terrific.
