My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Well, I had an old X-ray of one of my kidneys I'd have let you use! LOL Still you did something fun and creative with this oft-neglected letter, Tara! As Indiana Jones said... "X marks the spot!"

I have so much of the alphabet to catch up on, but X is a good place to start simply because I love the fact that I knew a woman named Maude Nxumalo--the "x" in her name was silent, which makes me wonder why it was there. Actually, it wasn't silent, it was just rendered in the language she spoke. I think she was (is) Zulu. Anyway, I love this. The patterns and colors are marvelous, and I love the fact that it's a part of a longer series in your gallery, because I get to go back, as well as look forward to Y and Z. I really like the colors in this one, and the wonderful swirlies. They're so lively and festive, very x-ish in that really nice way! Yeah...this is a goody!

X marks the spot!! The colors are great, quite holiday-ish, though I'm sure that wasn't your plan. I totally missed this whole alphabet stuff, but it's been fun seeing what you've all been doin!1

Everyone is commenting on the colors so, of course, X is for X-Mas. Outstanding work.

Oh, X got the shaft, letter wise. All weird words were left to it, not a normal word among them. You were right to not find an X word. (Before I comment, I just wrote a piece---which may or may not get posted---where the letter N talks about its friend, X, who got shafted by having the smallest number of pages in the dictionary. ((It's an interview with N.)) It's pretty raunchy---N's a sexist pig---so I don't know if I'll post it. But I was just tackling the X issue, so I thought I'd mention it. X goes back to a "ch" sound, if you didn't know---like the German "ch". And though you probably know it, Xmas is for Xristos, the Greek name for Christ---it's not just a place-holder in other words, it actually stands for Christ. Which shows that X actually does have some historical significance.) Anyway, this is a big burst of a piece, here. What you made almost seems like a kaleidoscope, or a Rorschach test. It even looks a little like a side of beef, I mean the big open carcasses you see in huge beef freezers. It's vital, energetic, and it has your X in the middle (in contrasting purple), and the edges are all electrical current. And your frames are some of the most contrasted in the series, with those saturated reds against greens. Then a more restful purple border (with X's all across them). Lots of variations in this piece; and it looks very holiday-ish---I agree with everyone above---and the center is a big whoosh...a time-lapse shot of a boulder splashing into a pond. As I've said, this is a beautiful series, and I'll mourn when it's done---esp as you've done it without break (I'm looking in your gallery now:) You began November 13th! Wow! You're almost at a full month! And you've done nothing but, since. Amazing! Also, I think you've used this "star-burst" brush through all the pieces---yes? Most of them? You've used it so well. Here, it shows up at the initial "splash" (around the X). Very Xciting stuff, tara. (Everyone else makes letter jokes, so so will I, lol...) The red really sets it all off... (Here, here's a famous painting of a side of beef, it's by Rembrandt, and really, if you look at your piece, it could be an abstract of this sight: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2610/4081275194_49c41aa83d.jpg)
