Description
This was a little project I was occupied with the past few days. I had decided to make a custom tile set which would be compatible with Mahjongg Master 4 or Kyodai Mahjongg (http://www.kyodai.com). This might be compatible with Mahjongg Master 3 and a few other Mahjongg programs as well, but I haven't tried it out with those.
I had tried to go for a sort of "carved jade" look.
For the dots tiles I had created a multi-marked polymesh object with a cylinder using radius to create the hole in the middle and alpha masked using columns to deform it and I placed a sphere in the middle. For the "bamboo" tiles I used a cylinder which was deformed using radial symmetry as well as a columns alpha mask. For the lettering and numbers I used Elefont and the font I used was Ray Larabie's "Baby Jeepers" font.
For the "seasons" tiles, the flower was created from a multi-marked polymesh object, the sun was created from a gear and a sphere. The leaf was first done by drawing the veins using the Zsphere tool and then I put a disc behind it and pushed and pulled parts of the disk into a leaf shape and then I MRGBZ grabbed that and then I pressed "Make3D" from the resulting alpha. I had picked up a leaf from outside for reference. The snowflake was a ZSphere tool.
The flowers were made using Gear3D tools and spheres. For the orchid I used a deformed sphere for the top leaf and an elongated and bent torus using a coverage of 180 for the lip.
The Kanji character for the "Green Dragon" tile was made from a ZSphere as well as for the "Red Dragon" tile. A ZSphere was used for the square part of the "White Dragon" tile and the rectangle in the middle was made with the cube3d.
The gold frames around the tiles were made with cylinders with SH set to "4" and SH smoothing switched "off" and a wide inner radius.
Sorry for the long description .
If you have the game you can just download it into your tileset directory and load it in from the tileset menu.
As always constructive feedback welcome.
