Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

This yellow line appears to have been painted by some one that had trouble painting a straight line. Maybe he was impaired. Excellent capture and cool use of reflections.

I really like this. You've done "road" pictures before but this one is your best. The reflection of the sky gives it a depth as if we are looking into a pond. And then right across the image of this wonderful tree is a stripe of decaying yellow which adds a graphic abstract quality to the image. When I was young my mother used to get upset with me because I was always looking at the ground. "Hold your head up," she would tell me. You are living proof that you can miss a lot when you do that.

Actually, she rarely told me anything. It was usually a demand.

Wonderful reflections Andrea.

I do like your road shots, Andrea. They are never the same and this is really beautiful with all the reflections, the drips and the leaf.
FractalFactor
Wonderful capture.

Great textures that we find for granted when parking.

I'm with Mark 100%, I agree with all he said. When I saw the small version at first, I thought maybe it was a blend. But when I looked twice (and then zoomed), I saw it was nature's own blend, the reflections of those beautiful branches in the water, along with the leaves that settled 'into' the water. And that road marking just juts across it boldly---yet it seems to be part of the image rather than an intrusion in it. I love the marker itself, a terrific topographical mess; and that leaf sitting on top is the garnish, the punctuation mark. Terrific, I love what you did with this. I can't do shots like these to save me keister, btw; but you do them like they're second nature. Nature's own Photoshop Blend caught by you in a flash. A beautiful image.

I think the reflection is the most interesting part of this!

Superb reflection& a poor squashed leaf.

A very creative shot, when I mention the line "Having Vision" this is an example of what I mean, observing the potential of this shot and taking it. Well done.

Very creative photo shot Andrea.

This is a beauty my friend - a submerged road marking and I love the lone leaf symbolism - floating in the reflection of the naked tree!

I like the reflections very much. The yellow line creates a very nice image segmentation.

Looks like you've had some rain, eh? What an interesting and busy puddle! Like a little world unto itself, and so beautifully captured!

Oooohh! Aren't you clever to have seen this. It's got the best of absolutely everything! The reflection in the puddle is marvelous, and there's even a leaf. Brilliant!
