zoom really brings out the intense carpet feeling of these mosses. And they sit on a bed of leaves the way large vegetables would sit on a bed of lettuce. (A big autumnal feast.) The stream/creek gives a continuum to all the activity in front of it, while those moss heaps lay across the ground like big slumbering possums---they just plop there and seem so content. A lush comfy shot; looks like one could pull that whole mass over them like a blanket, and get some really good sleep. Feels like a big comforter, in your hands...

What a treat to see such a familiar scene when we're far from the familiar! It's hard to remember the ubiquitous nature of moss when you're surrounded by mesquite and puncture vine. This is beautiful!
