Description

Today only one of my lodgers was at home, so I made a little turkey lunch with most of the bits for just her and me. First we had a great dogwalk on the beach, and afterwards Qing played the piano for me for a couple of hours. She is an accomplished classical musician. Tomorrow my family comes, full house! It is good to feed someone with a healthy appetite: I can eat less than half of what you see on that plate, and she had seconds of everything! Bravo!

Those eyes are a feature of clothing by the Japanese designer Kenzo. A very expensive garment, I think!

I don't know why English food gets such a bad rap. It may not be fancy but I find it very tasty. Apparently Qing agrees.

A great looking plate of food I'm surprised she could manage second helpings, I had two that size in two days and I'm thinking of abstaining for the next month.

Amazing looking plate of food. I would scrape off the Brussels sprouts but the rest looks great. I think I would need to take your dogs for a very very long walk if I ate this much. Having a classically trained musician in the house must be a real treat.

Yes, Kenzo clothing isn't cheap. Their men's shirts, for example, are on the high side (though you have shirt makers right there in Britain whose shirts are twice as expensive). And they make a very interesting and tasteful playful series of designs. I love Qing's outfit. (And she's an accomplished classical pianist? Ask her if she's played the "Hammerklavier"...I've been studying it recently, without a piano. I played it years ago, and now I wish I could play it again...How wonderful to be serenaded by an accomplished musician!) Re the meal, I'm vegetarian, so I never eat turkey; but that plate's got a lotta stuff I could easily eat. Love how you edge-filter portions of your pics, while not others. And I like the red and green, the angle, and the washed out shapes behind her. Reality and graphic design in the same piece...I really like this shot, Andrea, it's got a lot of style and complexity. (And makes me hungry.) And I like those eyes peering out from all those dragon-like swirls in her top. (I have this fantasy of finally visiting your home, and half the walls are edge-filtered with those squiggly colony-lines all over. You could prepare that before hand, so some RR members could email from your home, and say: "You know all those filtered walls in Andrea's photos? THEY'RE REALLY THERE!!!)

I'm drooling over the sprouts. Looks like a great meal, and I guess she's still a growing kid, eh? It was sweet of you to make that fancy feast for the just the two of you.

I'm not sure what everything is that's on her plate, but those Brussels sprouts look fabulous! And peas. yes ... I'll have some of those. New potatoes? Absolutely. Delicious! I'm glad to see you're training your young friends up right. Pictures BEFORE you eat! :P
