Description

The joys of Summer and a pool, to cool off in - ah, very refreshing ! especially after a hard days work in our garden and a friends farm (and there is usually plenty of that!) on the other plus side - we are having a glutton of Cucumbers,Tomatoes and Mangoes ... and I have already discovered a 1000 different ways of how to prepare them, well - give or take a two :)) *** I know this seems hardly fair to you guys - living in the Northern Hemisphere under those 'arctic' conditions ... because I have seen it on the News tonight and cannot believe what our weather dude Gav (short for Gavin!) had to say and showing us footage of icicles hanging from trees on the other side of the Marble. (Earth - LOL) My guess is, that you are all in possession of as many Winter coats, caps and hats just like Chicago Mark (anahata.c) - you have to check out his last post - very funny and I am sure very warm! ;)) *** I hope that this abstract capture will 'warm the cockles of your heart' - just by looking at it ... Cheers Brigitte

Great photo and effects! The colors are beautiful! Enjoy the cucumbers, tomatoes, and mangos, I love them! Being a vegetarian for many years with Alan , we discovered so many different ways to prepare them! Thank you for sharing, Brigitte!

Wonderful work and presentation Brigitte. Love your pink trees and the big splash. Everything about this helps to chip of the icicles off the eaves trough. Been as low as -52 with the chill factor a couple of times in the last week. Brrrrr

How do you get this done dear BB-chen ? I do not know what I see, such an extraordinary picture, do not believe that it is made with photos. I was studying it a while, and at first I thought, "hey, BB has also started to create fractals. It is like an oasis, all these brilliant splendor, and that wonderful landscape, which I would really like to take a dip. Oh, and I'm so jealous of your cucumbers and mangoes, you reminded me I still have to go to the vegetables store. Alas, Australia is too far away to go by bike, right? And also I'm afraid I'll loose the way ;-).

No worries, Gitte, we'll just come and stay with you. And here's something you don't see everyday, a water arch. Terrific post work.

Fabulous! It was too cold to swim here today, but it's supposed to warm up a little bit on Monday, and if it does, you know where I'll be! LOL! However you captured that arc of water, it's marvelous. :)

I like this. It almost looks abstract, but when I look closely I can see the trees and the water. Really beautifully done.

A very original looking image. It could be seen as some sort of space and time portal. Perhaps we could pop through it and get warm for a bit?

I'm sorry I'm late on this, I just got back to commenting tonight (it's the middle of the night here! lol, I can't sleep so why wait until morning???) What a wild shot this is! The arc, here---from a splash, I assume, but it looks like a grand fountain---is a big piece of water-sculpture, in your hands. And it arcs over these day-glo red trees. Your treatment was perfectly suited to the subject material: The iridescent blue of the arch is set off perfectly by that deep glowing red. And the water gets very dark in the back, with what looks like a bird on the water (a swan? or maybe it's just something on the ground back there). And a big valley in the background. I love how you left some of the greenery "green". A very intuitive piece of postwork, I love how you do this, leaving some of the shot as it was, and totally turning other parts "inside out". Very creative work. A big water arch---and it looks like a beautiful scene too. And thank you for the mention: Funny and warm, I'll accept that. (VERY warm, btw, because I was in my bathroom; and, after about 5 minutes, those coats got VERY hot. I didn't want to sweat, so I had to take them off for a few minutes before I continued shooting. If you're even remotely interested, one coat was camel hair, one was handmade Irish tweed, and the middle one was---yes, don't shoot me!---cashmere. It's the hottest of all, as cashmere is 8 times warmer than wool. And lemme tell ya, that coat is about the only thing worth wearing when the windchills go below minus 30C.) I'm honored to be mentioned with a shot as vital and creative as this. Love what you did with it. I'll be back for a longer session soon...
