My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

A nice capture.

A beautiful reflection, no doubt. But I half expected to see the shadow of a Dragonrider of Pern over the rocks of the Weir. But then again, perhaps that darker shadow behind the tree is a Dragonrider. Weir is just one of those words that I now associate with Pern.

Amazing capture!!!

Looked like flood waters running over grass and sidewalk. Then I read the description and the oak popped into view. LOL

I love that idea, of the shadows waiting to swoop over the top and on into light and oblivion.

Well seen. An interesting capture where the shadows take on a solidity as if they are floating on the surface of the water. And now I know what a weir is.

I am always highly impressed with your shadow and or reflection pieces. It has been a long time I have not allowed myself the time to post comments or for a while even look because I was spending so much time needed for doing other things here. Now I am allowing myself a limited time. I will not always comment due to my attempt at time management...But I want you to know your work always inspires me to try to be more creative when I have my camera along. Also I often imagine painting something from your photos. This one inspires impressionism for me. Were I as talented as Helle I would be whipping out a lovely painting today. Thank you for sharing your artistic works through the lens here where we can enjoy them.

Flowing shadows indeed.

This one caught my eye. It does indeed seem that the shadows are a living thing here. Love the blue sky reflection also. It has been so very cold and dreary here.

A very colorful and lovely photo, Tara. I love the reflections and the way the surface disturbance makes it almost look like a Monet. Beauty!

Nice water.

The disturbance on the water, the ripple effect of the Oak appear to me, as if someone has been weaving a carpet out of algae there ... and I can imagine it to be very attractive with painters - which I am not, unfortunately ... but I can dream on! ;) it's illuminating and has a lot of appeal to me Tara, BB

A landscape reflected, where everything seems to be touchable! . One of your best, Tara! Deserved to be in the wall !!

Superb capture!

Such shimmering shining loveliness! Yes, the dark shadows are heavier, so it takes them longer to go over ;p

(As an aside---whenever you and others say in your descriptions, "I like the way the shadow falls on the..." I want to write, "well who cares what YOU like!" But I don't write that, as it'd probably be misconstrued...) A mostly water shot, with reflection mingling with shadow, as you point out; and also with that green underneath the water---I assume that's underwater growth down there: So we have several layers of reality going at once. (A kind of reality-blend, speaking of blends.) And everything converges in that big green swath, all broken up by the subtle waves and rhythmic pulses. And the back of the shot: I don't know if that's water flowing over an edge, or a rock abutment, or what; but it's a fascinating "end" to the shot, making us wonder what surrounds this capture. A fascinating mix of elements, light, shadow, reflection, with a collection of emeralds in the center. More fine reflection-work from you, Tara.
