Description

This little guy - I guess about 6 months old - was very curious about the humans staring at him and his family. It was late morning, so not ideal for photography in the harsh light, and his pride was lazing in the shade of the trees. He came out from under a tree and did a few poses for me before getting bored and moving back into the shadows! Taken in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

One of the things I enjoy about the UK is it's lack of that big orange thing that floats in the sky LOL! But seriously, flat lighting in the UK is common, even in the summertime when the illusive disk appears, there is 7 times out of ten, some clouds that will come in front of it, and act like a big soft box. All that being said Carin, you got a great shot of this juvenile lion.

What an elegant creature. And he knows it too! I love his facial expression. The use of light in this shot is absolutely spot-on-perfect and the shot itself contains one of my favorite sorts of people, though the ones I associate with are housecats rather than big cats. This is so perfectly done.
