Description

I am once again tinkering with some ideas that have sat in my head for a very long time. This time I think I may (finally) be on the right track. At any rate, here's a ship coasting nearby a nice big asteroid, with others encamped in the crater beyond, launching a semi-autonomous missile... All of which hints at a story I'm working on, hopefully to be posted here! Everything in this is pretty much my own creation. Ship/missile/inflated-dome all modeled and rendered in Bryce. Asteroid modeled in "Sculptris" and rendered in Bryce. Asteroid texture is my own creation, as are (most of) the textures on the ships. Background stars/nebula all done in photoshop. Whew! I stayed up way too late, there's still snow falling on my driveway to shovel tomorrow, and I'm tired. But it was totally worth it :) I hope everyone has had a good weekend, and hopefully the week ahead will be peaceful and creative.

Really nice picture, especially is created in Bryce, which is not the most handful tool for this ! If I may give to you an advice, maybe a more detailed and gritty texture for the asteroid would make an even better effect.

Yeah, I agree with you there. I'm running into a limitation in Bryce that seems to be killing the details from my textures when I import them, and I've not figured out a way around that, yet...

I really love the ship designs here. Mike! Your asteroids seem to get better with each new work, as well. This really looks like some of the asteroid/comet images coming from Rosetta and other probes. Did you see where that asteroid that passed by last week actually had a small moon? Incredible.. Keep 'em coming, my friend!
