Description
Captured 2/2/15, early morning, on my way home from the Dollar Tree store.
Before anyone complains about the composition, these shots were taken under extreme adverse conditions. First off, my LCD monitor was completely washed out by the sun, so I couldn't see diddly when aiming, plus the canines were wildly jumping, spinning and running back and forth, so even if I could see them on the monitor it would have been too late between that and clicking the shutter. Not exactly hail fellow, well met. In any case, I was fortunate that the shots came out this well.
And to clear up any misconception about my relationship with the dogs in the neighborhood, they not only bark at me, but also at anyone else who violates their imagined territory. These particular critters start barking while I'm still out of sight and 25 feet away. All they need is the barely perceptible sound of footsteps to set them off. I'm even barked at from a block away while still out of sight. Ergo, these guys, along with many of the other pups in the neighborhood, are in dire need of anger management. Can't we all just get along?
Have a nice day.

a difficult society where people have aggressive dogs to have some peace !!! Beautiful picture very risky !!!

They certainly do seem to be upset with you being that close, Harry. Maybe you can bring them a treat next time to win them over.

Yeah, right. I've tried that before with these guys and it didn't work. A treat to them is either my leg or my throat, or both. Incidentally, I've upset more than one owner when tossing snacks to dogs. Thanks for the tip anyway.

Excellent shots, especially given the circumstances, Harry. I'm sure they're nice enough to their owners. My dog, little rat that she is, barks at everything and everyone, including me and my folks, if we move from wherever we happen to be to some other place in the house. Heaven forbid someone knocks on the door! Her day is spent waiting for me to come home so she can bark me into the house. It's more than a bit annoying sometimes, but I guess to her she's just talking. And yes, feeding someone else's dog isn't usually considered a good idea, there are people that poison pets, and you don't want to be accused of that!

They are just trying to protect that shovel and paving stone!!! The black Chihuahua looks like she is vicious!!! Very Cool Capture!!!

These appear to be good watchdogs, be glad that there was a fence between you. Superb captures, one can almost hear them barking.

The one looks like they're definitely the Alpha. Don't feel bad though, mine would bark too. Our newest one was completely silent for a week, then let loose with the barking and hasn't stopped yet. She barks at the next door neighbors, anyone passing by; even if she is inside too. Of course, she's not alone either, the oldest one will join in the barking even if she's in another room and completely unaware of what is causing all the barking. I'm sure these dogs are just letting you know it's best to keep moving along.

Great comments here, and I totally understand why feeding someone else's barking dogs is NOT a great idea. (Lol on taking your leg as a substitute.) Dogs are territorial as it gets, and even if they are gentle to their masters, they go berserk at the sight of an intruder. Which of course makes for terrific and fun photography---as long as you don't get too close. As for the difficult composition, I understand that as well. (As well as the perils of LCD screens. It makes you appreciate those "hoods" photographers used, in the old days---those veils attached to the camera boxes, which covered the photographer's head? I'm sure there's a word for them. The sun just wipes out LCS screens. It just wipes out the image.) But...I love the skewed-ness of the compositions, they remind me of your padlock shots. That top shot has what I assume is something for carrying a boat, or to be attached to a truck---it's just great, jutting into the shot like that, while two dogs are doing two different things. (One barking, the other looking.) And a shovel just sitting there. And other miscellany, all seen through a fence. The second shot introduces another dog, well placed under the tail of the left-most dog---a kind of "circle" here. And the last shot shows one of the dogs leaving---he's had it, he wants to catch reruns of The Honeymooners; while his friend, the barker, keeps barking. I love the visual pileup of these. Also---you have steely nerves to do this: I know there's a fence there, but it's not the most pleasant shooting environment. More kudos. The pics are lots of fun, and a lot better composed than you think.
