Description

I've decided I need to take a break from Renderosity. There's so much fun stuff going on in the real world that I'm finding I don't have enough quality time to spend here. That, combined with the fact that I'm having trouble with my vision, makes this a good choice for me right now. I found a website that has a couple of pictures that will show you what sort of vision issues I'm currently having. I frequently have the impression that there's a brush fire nearby and I'm looking through smoke. Everything is a little darker than I know it should be, and colors are dull. I can roll my eyes and move the cloud around to see more clearly, but continuing to do that over and over in order to look at something on the computer monitor is tiring. Here's a link if you're interested: Posterior Vitreous Detachment Although the website will tell you my issue can be fixed, I'm not a candidate for that sort of surgery. I'm already partially blind in my left eye, and the floater cloud is in my "good" eye. It can be done, but it would be a last resort. I won't be gone forever, but can't say at this point when I'll be back on a regular basis. In the meantime, enjoy the mammoth's tail! :) See you soon ...

I'm sorry to hear about your eye issue, but I can also understand the need to take a break as well. Corey is going in for cataract surgery soon (he's well versed in looking through haze!) and hopefully you will be having fun and spending all of the non-digital-world quality time that you need. As for this shot! WOW! I still have other pieces to catch up on, and I'll be doing that. Your use of light in these mammoth shots is amazing! This is National Geographic quality stuff.

You will be missed by the entire Renderosity Community. And I will miss you too. Your wonderful support over the years have made a difference in so many people's lives, I'm certain of this. I hope the doctors can find a way to fix your vision problem, losing vision for an artist is devastating and my heart goes out to you. Though I hope you are able to return in the future, I want you to know how much I have appreciated everything you have done for me, I may never have discovered writing without your encouragement. Thank you, and may the ancestors be with you.

Tara, in the short time I have been on Renderosity, getting to know you through your pictures has been so very much fun. Your POV has tought me to look beyond what I first see. You have been so kind and encourageing to a new photographer. As I said when I started, my reason was about those so special gifts in our world, wildlife. Your pictures have been consistinally some of my favorites. Through them I have learned so much. I find myself going back through your alphabet series several times. They are still so fantastic. I am a nurse. I have two patients with this condition. I was sorry to see this is what you are dealing with. Go spend time with those beautiful children in your life. Go see the places you haven't seen, and know that for now, you and your work will be missed by many. I will be waiting to see the next work of art later.

I too have a 'floater' but nothing on the scale that you have Tara, I wish you good luck and look forward to when you return to the fold. I like your pic and if you turn it on its side there is what looks like an animals head there!!!

The eyes are the windows to the soul, keep those going well and you keep your soul going well. Take care of them, and come back here only when you feel in your heart that you are ready. Be well my dearest friend. Cool shot BTW. And I have to say, because you know me well now that when an artist starts to have a problem seeing, it annoys me that less constructive individuals, like those pricks in power all across the globe, are only blinded by their own greed and stupidity, and have perfect vision. Go figure thatun eh?

Aw, Antie! I'm so sorry to hear your vision problem is forcing you to take time out! Great photos. But I understand - I've posted very little the past 1 - 2 years due to coming home late, feed Kitty, feed myself, to bed exhausted. But thank goodness, no health problems except the blood pressure and migraines. I pray you will get better and can return to photography and Renderosity. All my best to Bill. Sincerely, Michael PS - this is a real challenge - looking through the mammoths pelvis from in front?

My heart and my thoughts are with you, Tara. I understand well your troubles and decisions. Meanwhile, enjoy all and take much care of you! All of us will miss YOU and your ART very much, but be back just when you feel that is the right time for it. As for your photo, the details are fabulous and the light is amazing! I love how the Mammoth 'comes' from the dark...! EXCELLENT!

Sad that it's forcing you to choose; your vision is such a huge piece of what makes this place special. You will be missed until you return. Take the time to rest and heal, and come back when you can!

the most vulnerable mammoth's detail. reasonably in the back. soory to hear of your sight problems. I have something similar but in the shape of small alien spaceships, so they do not impair with my perception but tickle imagination instead:))), wishing you all the best, Tara!

In the meantime, I will certainly miss your wonderful photos, and thoughtful comments. The important thing now is to take care of your vision, and hopefully a way to improve it will present itself. All my best to you and Bill, and of course Jo and I look forward to next time you visit. Bless you, my friend. Almost forgot to mention - this is a stunning photo! The lighting is so perfect, and really gives it that air of mystery and history.

Amazing how many of us, have experienced similar situations to those here, mentioned in the Video link, thanks for the extra info Tara ! Does that mean, that you might come to visit OZ, with Dr. Con Moshegov perhaps doing the honours ? he explaines the dissolving or vapourizing of those floaters well and it seems an easy enough, sort of procedure ? ;P Of course, I have also experienced moments like this - but mine are still very much manageable ;) I do wish you well in the future and it's a good idea to have break from RR ... and I hope, that you will still be able to read this, somehow ? (my time is also very limited here presently - it's simply too much other stuff going on, mainly work around the big property) All the best to you, BB PS - very intricate view of the ol' THING !!! - unbelievably well aged ...
