Description

CREATIVE SPARK Anything that sparkles In your imagination Qualifies The shine Is in the passion The excitement of Beginning A friend just brought me a Dress pattern Knowing I would love it Even though I Wasn't Going to Make Another New Thing Now there is fabric Everywhere Scraps Panels Stacks of pinned And cut Ready-to-assemble Gorgeousness Purple and blue Green and teal Batiks prints solids Waiting to become Something That never existed before I tease the one Who inspired this Tell her she's evil But she knows I'm delighted She was the Creative catalyst Enzyme Impetus Motivation We two are part of a Larger group Each one following along Eager to see my progress Knowing the inspiration Comes around the circle Any random word Might start something New Like those different fabrics We come together To make a whole Each of us brings something Different Unique We are stitched together Like those beautiful colors And the result of our Coming together Is as wonderful And infinitely varied As a warm quilt .................... The December challenge topic in the Writer's Gallery was "Shiny New Toy." This poem arose from that challenge, even though it's not strictly on topic. .......... Thank you to those of you who responded with such compassion to my last post. Although photography processing (and viewing) is too much right now, I'm doing other things. I'm finding a lot of satisfaction in fiber arts ... a lifelong passion ... and this poem is dedicated to the group of women with whom I meet twice a week to play with anything made from threads. The dress was finished yesterday, and the poem soon thereafter. :)

This is a well written piece, and I'm glad you were able to post it. Don't push yourself too hard, but I'm glad you can do fabric art. I was into that for a long time, it's a lot of fun and easy on the eyes. Best Wishes.

Years ago I'd never heard of teal. Now its one of my favorite colors. Very glad to hear you've found an outlet for your creative spirit. This poem is a wonderful example. So here's a thought, Bill has a camera. Can we see some of your work? If it is anything like what you have posted here it should be a delight.

Nice writing sweetie. Glad you have rekindled the threads thing, but I know your itchy finger will be back on the 70D shutter soon. Oh Jess Jess Jess!

A lovely poem, Tara! I've often thought it would be cool to do a large fabric mural of some of my Poser art or photos. Something along the lines of colonial punchwork, or rug hooking... Something else I'd like to learn to do that I don't have time to..... sigh I need to retire... Hope you can post a photo or two of your fabric art sometime. Hope things are well with you and Bill.
