Description

D'you wanna know how little time I have to post here ??? (are you saying: so what ? and who cares? or who needs to know? - all answers are correct! :P ) ... but I'll let you know anyway, just take a look at this sad picture of the Dandelion puff - I renamed it: 'Deadlion' now! I didn't even find enough time to change the water ! ;( but suddenly discovered a photo op. here, because there are moments when I prefer the unusual and the unattractive - they remind me of unloved step-children and I feel for them - the way they are neglected - it's too close to home, OK - this is getting heavy now, 'nuff said. *** Actually it was [in an odd way], that an old school-friend of mine, very recently passed away - into another realm - which made me think in a melancholy way, how quickly precious time passes on this planet, one minute we are here and the next - it's 'kaputt' !!! ... cue: "Mad Max" ... ;)) *** Cheers Brigitte aka Gitti

Very sorry to hear about your friend. My 50th reunion is coming up and I was looking at a list of graduates on an alumni page. Some names had 's next to their names. It meant they had passed away. There was a girl in my high school, she was blond and pretty and popular. She was always nice to me. There was an next to her name. And I thought, how could she be dead? She is only eighteen. Of course she was eighteen almost fifty years ago. The years pass before we know it. Every life has an expiration date so we must not waste it. BTW - those dandelion seeds may still be viable so if you want to cast them out upon the wind they may still grow.

Yes, Brigitte. I agree. If we could get it right, maybe we would enjoy our lives more. No hate, envy, misery, injustice... and more... I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I have been there and I understand. Your capture is AMAZING!!!

What a perfect Title and picture of your Deadlion. It is always so sad to lose a friend, they are often closer than some family members. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you Brigitte.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss, and I know how heavy those losses can be. I hope you (and all those your friend knew and loved) find peace from her loss, and carry her light and love with you like sun-rays, always. Your image is stunning! It would have been stunning by itself, but it's even more stunning as a poem about loss. I'm always amazed at your creativity...you left in only half the bottle, making this even more of a long journey downwards...you let us slowwwwly move down the bottle, wondering what that long golden stem is and where it's going; and then---boom: It ends in that transformed "deadlion": Yes, dead, but filled with seeds for future plants, and looking a like a little star, or cluster of stars. And the water has so much going on in it; and the reflections are beautiful...and you put it all against that purple textured background. It's a wonderful image. And while it evokes loss and the irremediable, it also has great beauty and hope: Those transformed leaves---like little starbursts---are truly beautiful down there. Once again your gallery surprises me with freshness and life. A wonderful image, and my condolences to your friend and their loved ones. You give an image of loss, but light...may it help her on her way. (An old Native American saying says, "I walk on light-beams on the horizon". May she do so as well...) (My arm is being treated, so I'm barely on RR at all. But i wanted to give my hugs for this image.)

Such an impressing idea and image, liebe Gitti. When you want to make a photo you just can make from anything a cool surprise for us. Of course it's sorry for your lost of a friend, but you still in this way able to give a very special expression of life; in the sense that things are unpredictable, but also that in the bleak situation you still can experience something special. I hope the busy times will be less, I wish you so much more tranquility, dear Friend. If I could I would come and help you. Haha, what do you think, would I be a great help?? ;-)

I love the star bursts in your dandelion puff. The death of a 'Deadlion' would have been a great title. Sad to hear that your friend has passed.

It's a wonderful image, Brit! And a sad message. Losses are losses, and it's sad that you have lost a good friend. They go somewhere we don't know now but will. They know. They wait for us. Let us believe they are much happier than we are.

My first look at this I thought you had put it together very cleverly but Mother Nature has an eye for beauty too and I'm so glad you were able to take the time to capture this as it makes a really great image. I'm sorry that your friend has passed on but I am sure you have great memories of her to keep. I too lost a very dear friend recently we had been nursing together over 50 years ago and had always stayed friends....hard eh! 😄
