Description

*** HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES for MARK *** from one of your fans - all the way from OZ ... I wanted to give you a personal present and here is a very old drawing of mine, (It's something I'd salvaged somehow, from the 50's in Germany) of an original bronze statue of Joan of Arc, the national heroine of France (1412) . Now I am not 100% sure, if this is the correct date to celebrate your birthday anniversary ? - but one thing I am certain of, it will be sometimes this week, it's just that I didn't want to miss it and then being late ... So here it goes anyway, Mark you are an absolute gentleman, great artist and a scholar, or in that order ? everybody loves you here at Renderosity, especially with your usual trademark of truly inspiring and splendid comments, you are leaving here for us, you have the gift of the gab, to just always find the right words and make one feel, as if one is the most precious artist in the world - you see everything in a special light and I like to thank you for spreading such kindness. YOU DA SPIN DOCTOR ! ;)) ... and not to forget your own posts here, they are sometimes from the real world and sometimes from another dimension - the surreal world, there are simply no boundaries for you and that's what makes your vision of art so distinct and enjoyable ... Big Cheers and hip, hip hooray dear friend, *BB* PS - I do hope that your arm is getting better soon ...

I like how the postwork has made your original drawing look like carved stone. A very neat dedication for your well spoken friend. ~Cheers~

(i'm having server problems, and this keeps posting drafts of my comment---I'll try it one more time---) First of all---putting the dedi aside for just a moment---I don't know if I've seen a drawing of yours before! I don't remember, at least. This is a fine drawing, Brigitte---even moreso because you based it on a statue, which is not easy to do. Fine lines, fine movement (in the horse and in Joan); you caught her proud posture and her sword, and you used minimal lines to capture everything. (That usually takes a lot of experience to do well.) And, as others have pointed out, your postwork rendered this into a very old drawing, or like a glyph, or something found in a cave. You did a great job with it, making it feel like a rare find. As for the dedi, thank you so much for your words and your great kindness. A wonderful gift from you, Brigitte. I'm not sure I deserve all the things you said, but you are very kind and I appreciate everything you said. And it's not often I'm called "da spin doctor," lol---I'll take it! I'll accept the title. (I'll have to take a picture of me rapping, one day. I'll post it under "horror": It's not a sight you wanna see. I dance terribly too!) Thank you so much for everything, Brigitte. You got the date right too, btw: It's the 21st (Bach's birthday---one of your country people). But it wouldn't have mattered if you'd missed it by 2 months: You posted a beautiful drawing and beautiful words and thoughts: I'm very grateful and I thank you so much. It's a wonderful gift for my birthday. Danke schön!

It is beautiful, sophisticated and looks like a lithograph, or engraved in bronze. I waited until Mark had seen your devotion to him. It is so interesting to know that you did this in your early years in Germany, and all taken it to the land of Oz, to know this than where you saved it. You saved it for a special occasion, so Mark should feel very honored by this attention of someone as you are, with that big heart of yours in the right place. You rock, dear friend, und ich werde dir bald schreiben (immerhin, du bisst sowieso zufiel beschäftigt mit Alles rundum dein Haus und Garten, oder? ;-). Tschüss, meine liebe ♥ :)
