Description
I called Tailspin to my office for a briefing, he came in and settled on the couch and I began...." Ok, tomorrows flight should be simple and straightforward but this is just to clarify a few things. You get through your pre-flight checks and take off at 11:00am exactly, you use runway 00 North and climb to 1,000 feet. You fly North out across the Duckpond, heading North, you just fly North......one hour flying time you'll be over the bombing range....simple....BUT ! . I know how you get distracted, so I have a plan, the only inhabited area between our runway and the bombing range is the village of Cannonfodder on the Wold. Look at these pictures, this is Cannonfodder and this is the bombing range, see the difference? Cannonfodder has buildings and streets and cars and PEOPLE! the bombing range has none of those. Cannonfodder is two minutes from the end of the runway, the bombing range is an hour.....the time is the key. You're mind wanders with too much time, so we'll fill the time with things to do....You take off and climb to altitude, check you're heading North, then you start you're in flight checks, that takes about 15 minutes, then you do the checks again, then just to be sure you repeat them. That should put you close to the range, you arm the Mistel, check your heading and at exactly 12 o'clock your target will be in sight and it's bombs away ". Tailspin seemed puzzled, then he said " the bombing range is West of here ", I shook my head and replied " No, not anymore, remember? the government sold all the military sites to builders for 'affordable' housing...when they realised they had to have one bombing range it was too late so they designated Wimbledon Common as the new range. It's ideal, right in the heart of London, easy commute, something for tourists to see and no wildlife....well apart from a few Wombles, and since their contract with the BBC expired nobody's going to worry about them ". " Oh yeh, I remember " said Tailspin, he had taken out an i-pad and was writing something on it....in crayon.....I had to ask " What are you doing ? ". He smiled and said " Check off list, Pre-flight checks, Take off, Head North, In flight checks, In flight checks, In flight checks, Arm bomb, Check heading, 12 o'clock....bombs away!.... I cross each item off as I do it and nothing can go wrong". I was stunned " Brilliant ! why didn't you think of that before ?" Tailspin shrugged, " I only just got the crayons " he said. After studying the two picture for a few minutes Tailspin said " Got it " and left, for the first time in many years I felt optimistic about a Tailspin mission, he seemed to be making a serious effort, perhaps we've turned a corner and I can stop worrying every time he takes off......armed. Well we'll just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.....as I've already mentioned I start Chemo tomorrow but I'll let you know how this turns out when I get back.......now, I just hope Wrongway knows where to stick the needle........

We are talking about Tailspin here. The words Tailspin and optimistic do not fit in the same sentence. You go to chemo and we will get the required emergency teams in place to handle the fallout. We will put the word out to evacuate Great Briton and just to be safe, Ireland. Don't worry you little head one bit. Someone is already working on the press release. Seriously, the images are fabulous and Tailspin's grin is perfect. Hope chemo goes easily tomorrow.

Thanks 'T'.

Hmm, the word crayon and I pad don't seem to be found anywhere in the same sentence. Good luck!
