My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.

Look at you coming back with one of your wonderful creations! I missed your last two but I will go there. It is baby season and I have NO time. I have missed your work. I hope you are glad to know I am getting the hang of my 70 D. I have a lot to learn though. This picture makes my happy. Who is the beautiful young lady ? I am glad to see your work whenever you can post.

I like the techniques you're experimenting with, opaque layers under other layers on top of layers. Comment when you want, I certainly don't expect you to comment. I hope you go find an eye surgeon that will say, oh yea, we got a new technique that can solve that... of course, it might involve becoming a Borg, or something. But, yea. Be good.

This has such a nice feel to it and for some reason it makes me think of an album cover. I love the brushes and I also love your fun dip into the fantasy realm! More would be most welcome, when possible, and don't worry about comments; I've given up on trying to keep up and I just make comments whenever I can. But I will probably be making more since I got a new camera. This is really wonderful! It's such a fun thing to look at.

Wonderful image you've created! I wish you well and hope, like wolfenshire, that you find a good surgeon who can help you Like Bev, I have to ask, who is the lovely young lady?

Beautiful and creative image! I think those that turn comments off must have had some rude visitors that left them not wanting any... is odd though - They must want to share their vision with the public or why bother posting, yet to not let anyone discuss it seems at cross purposes to that. For me, there's so many great posts on here its impossible to comment on them all; if I even tried I'd never have time to post anything myself! ;) Hope all is well for you, god bless.

You have such a wonderful imagination! This is a brilliant construct. And its rarity makes it all the more delicious. Hang in there, Tara. Congress passed a bi-partisan bill this last week so miracles do happen.

Really cool work.

Hugely enjoyable for the viewer as it was for you, Tara! It shares with your other work that confidence of composition and subtlety of colour which is your trademark, and I love it. My first brief thought on seeing the lass was that your holiday from RR had rejuvenated you.........

A lovely foray into the fantasy realm...you've managed to inject just the right amount of magic into this lovely piece!

I don't give a shit if people comment or not, I post my stuff to share what I know and let people see the shots, if they choose not to comment, I think to myself, well you are either a big head who dislikes some things and think you can do them better, or you are an idiot that doesn't appreciate the hard work that goes into this. You did a great job of compositing all this sweets, and take care of those mince pies.

Outstanding work Tara. God bless.

Very cool work....

Experimenting like this is about 90% of the fun with art, IMO. And it's easy to see what a fun time you had putting this together, Tara! Indeed, it's hard to know when to stop - when a piece is 'finished.' If an artwork can ever be truly 'finished.' I do hope things improve for you, hon - and you have to do what's best for you. Knowing you're still here checking things out is enough - at least 'till we get to see you two again.. :-D

Very nice collage technique - it's well balanced, seamless & harmonious & draws me in. I know what you mean about not knowing when to stop - I usually end up going a step or too too far. As for commenting, I've never seen it as a tit for tat activity that needs to be reciprocated. There are people whose work I admire that I comment on who rarely or never comment on mine & others who comment on mine who I rarely comment on. There are all sorts of reasons for that & I'm not going to lose any sleep over them (there are other things that keep me up at night). Don't strain your eyes unnecessarily, Tara...

Super work you inspire me to give it a try someday. I love to get comments even the criticizing ones and ones suggesting what to do with the image It helps to try and improve them.

You are really coming along nicely (as if you needed it), but...WOW! That's good! Your young model reminds me of a lady I knew from Brooklyn who met me in Alabama of all places. See, your creations evoke memories and deep thought. lol

Marvelous work, love it!

WOW! Tara. This is such a beautiful piece. You have really been creative and done it with alot of skill.

What I see is a beautiful lady surrounded by many beauty of colors and movements around her. A brilliant composition in the whole, and fusion by the intriguing result. What I understand about what you write about the giving and receiving of responses, I think I understand you. Also, I always doubt whether I should turn off the comment-mode, because I feel guilty if I do not give as many comments as I'd like to do very much. I fought very hard against my face aches, and more physical limitations, and do my very best, I really can not do more. I fully understand your situation, so please go on with your uploads, and do not worry about anything, I try to not worry about what others think about my lack of giving comments. but it remains a difficult issue for me, and I always hesitate, not knowing what to do. ;-)

A tantalizing blend of very clear images, with that face very dominating, like a center to the image. The orb above her---looks like a big oriental moon---is beautiful in the 'sky' of the piece. And the bell tower looks southern, even Texan, and is a beautiful balance to the rest. It's all embraced by tendrils, both real and imagined, and with melting hues and lights. You said you were trying new techniques, and they've led to another beautiful fantasy=montage from you. Enchanted and magical work, Tara, it's always wonderful to see your blend/montage/2D, etc work. Whenever you post one, it's a genuine treat. This is beautiful. Most of the times I turn off comments, it's because I'm doing a dedi for someone who's just passed, or who has been very ill, and the family or friends would be more comfortable without comments on. Some people in real pain or loss find it hard to read anything that isn't wholly about the sick or passed one, so out of respect to them, I leave off comments; and that's the only reason, as I never, never like turning them off. Then sometimes I also post for someone very close to 'me', who may deeply need the dedication, but would be very embarrassed by comments of any kind---even loving ones---only because they're in real pain and are too shy to have strangers wish them well in public. It's just that, and not a desire to stop you (or anyone else) from commenting on my work. On that, I love caring comments, and I'm always, always sad when I have to turn them off. Always. I want to make that clear---I hate turning them off. Sometimes I ut off comments when I wasn't commenting, too, but when some people objected, I left comments on thereafter. I got the message quickly. So my turning off comments are not to inhibit people I love. And if any of you have something big you want to say, you're always welcome to drop a note, sitemail, whatever, even though I don't expect it at such times....Re your posting and leaving comments on, now, it's great to see you post, and I'm happy to comment while you're away. I've just been away myself, and commenting a few galleries at a time, so I've been late. But it's not because you've been away from RR alot...Just wanted to address what you wrote above. Again, this is a beautiful mind-fair of an image.
