Description

These wading birds, with their bright orange bills, are a fairly common sight on the Oregon coast. Thanks for all the nice comments about my posting "The Restless Sea" yesterday. I never have any idea which photos I post will get that kind of enthusiastic feedback & which ones will get very little reaction - it's really a mystery to me. Also, on a personal note, this past week we sold our house & yesterday had an offer accepted on a new house we're buying. Both deals still have to go through inspections & appraisals, so could conceivably hit some snags, but if all goes according to plan, we will be moving on about May 15th. We're moving from a 3 story, 3200 square foot house on 7 acres in the country to a single story, 2000 square foot house in town, so it will be a big change for us. We'll definitely miss a lot of things about living out here, but we're convinced it's the right move for us at this time. I expect to continue posting & commenting during the interim, though perhaps at a reduced rate as we get busier packing & preparing for this move... Please zoom.

These birds are so different from our oystercatchers, fascinating. They arranged themselves well for you, I wonder how long you had to wait!

Great capture! Cool looking birds, neat rock texture! Wonder what they are looking at.. I never know which ones people will like either. Timing might be a factor too... sometimes I get so behind that I can't comment on everything I want to or I'd never get anything posted myself. Have a Happy Easter!

Our 'European' oyster catchers are black and white with the orange beaks and legs. Nice shot.

Such a good capture that I thought you must have shot this at the Oregon Aquarium in Newport. Best wishes on your move into town. This all came together so nice & quickly. Congrats!!!

Congrats on the sale and purchase, I hope it goes smoothly for you. I don't envy you moving, it's such a lot of work! This shot is wonderful, I haven't ever seen these birds before!

Interesting birds in zoom - nothing like this on the east coast. Congratulations and best of luck on the move.
