Description

This photo was taken on the same visit to the Wakodahatchee Wetlands, that I took my previous posting of the TriColored Heron. This Snowy Egret was checking her 2 pale blue eggs. I apologize that the direct sunlight washed out the colors and details. She is about 24 inches (61 cm) long and with a wingspan of 41 inches (104 cm). Her plumes are unique to Snowy Egrets. I hope to photograph the chicks on my next visit. She will zoom. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

What a beautiful bird!! And great shot of the eggs too! And look at all that green! Maybe some day here in NH we will start to see green. Today is April 10th and it was only in the 40's. One great thing about living here, as you probably know, is that you can have all four seasons in one day, LOL.
